    Opening of Western Union agencies in ADL Front de Mer and Oloumi. Launch of the Salary Card. Launch of the Congés à la Carte offer. Launch of the First Installation Credit for Liberal Professions. Capital distribution: Gabonese State (26.35%), Gabonese private interests (26.98%), BNP Paribas/BDDI Participations (46.67%).
  • 2005 - Launch of Onero Credit

    Launch of BICIG Leasing. Inauguration of the service area at Libreville Airport (ADL). Privatization of SEEG and OCTRA. BICIG leads the syndicate of banks for these operations. Launch of the Azur Retirement Savings Plan (PERAZ).
  • 1996 - Acquisition of MULTIXPAC Software

    Inauguration of the First agency in Port-Gentil. Opening of the first service area at 9 Etages. Acquisition of the MULTIXPAC electronic payment software, which expands the range of services and possibilities offered by BICIG cards. BICIG becomes a member of the Visa payment system.

    Opening of an agency in Oloumi. Opening of a currency exchange office at the Libreville airport terminal.
  • 1989 - First Bank Card and POS

    Launch of the first bank card in Gabon and the BICIG card payment system. Opening of the Prestige agency, equipped with the first Automated Teller Machine (ATM). Installation of the first Point of Sale (POS) terminals. Renovation of the Franceville agency. Expansion of the headquarters on Avenue du Colonel Parant.

    Increase in capital from 3,000 to 6,000 million FCFA through reserves incorporation. SFOM transfers 2% of its rights to Gabonese private interests, allowing the Gabonese part to hold 51% of the capital. New distribution: Gabonese State (27.67%); Gabonese private interests (23.33%); SFOM (24.01%); BNP (24.99%).

    Increase in capital from 500 to 650 million FCFA through reserves incorporation. Opening of the Mouila and Franceville agencies.
  • 1973 - Creation of BICIG

    Creation of BICIG, a Gabonese company with a capital of 500 million FCFA: Gabonese State, Gabonese private interests, Société Financière pour les pays d'Outre-Mer (SFOM). On April 1st, BICIG took over the activities of BNP in Gabon through its Libreville branch and its agencies in Port-Gentil and Moanda. The headquarters, at the time of creation, was located at the current site of the Gabon Telecom commercial agency in downtown facing DHL. Opening of an agency in the Mont-Bouët neighborhood in October. CEO: Mr. Paul Gilloux.
  • 1966 - Creation of BNP Gabon

    Two major French banks, BNCI and the Comptoir National d'Escompte de Paris (CNEP), merged to create Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) in Gabon.
  • 1945 - Creation of a Branch

    Banque Nationale pour le Commerce et l'Industrie (BNCI) establishes a branch in Libreville.
